As Program Associate, Miles Johnson helps implement Environment Now’s Water Program, conducts its communications and outreach initiatives, and assists with grants management and organizational administration.

Before Environment Now, Miles served as a CivicSpark Fellow with the Local Government Commission. During the 2020-21 service year, he worked with Lake County Special Districts to implement an asset management plan to reduce sanitary sewer overflows, protecting aquatic ecosystems and drinking water for Lake County. Miles has also worked with Seafood Nutrition Partnership and served in the Washington D.C. office of California Congressman John Garamendi.

Miles graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with dual undergraduate degrees in Environmental Earth Science and Political Science, receiving multiple academic and teaching achievement awards. While there, he consulted at the Washington University Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic, where he supported ongoing legal action related to the impacts of coal-fired power plants in the St. Louis area.
